Version History

Here are the different versions of Asticones.

  • 1.2.0 - Tool Bar (Download)
    • Added a pretty toolbar with many useful comands
    • Displays aliases in the folders list and the icons grid
    • Slightly modified interface (to fix a bug)
    • Added a "look for update" menu (experimental)
  • 1.1.3 - ohayou ! (Download)
    • This version only adds japanese localization provided by Tom
  • 1.1.2 - the update of the week
    • Small optimisation of the loading of icons
    • New option to display image files (jpeg, gif...)
    • It is now possible to move the window by clicking in empty regions of the window (not only borders)
    • Localizing software is such a pain (even with apple tools)! There where (again) French menu items in the english interface. There should be none left
  • 1.1.1 - much recommanded update
    • Better detection of folders that don’t have a custom icon. The problem was with folders that used to have a custom icon, but don’t have one anymore
    • Fixed a bug with the preferences
    • Other internal adjustments. Does not rely on Applescript Studio any more
    • Changed the icon for one with less holes. (my thanks to macintroll)
  • 1.1.0 - "The software I needed"

    With this version I consider I have achived my goals for Version 1 of Asticones. Now let’s chase bugs and try to accelerate the loading of the icons.

    • Displays only icons of folders that have a custom icon
    • If a file has no Custom Icon, tries to load it as icns file
    • David Lanham offered me a beautiful icon, much to my liking
  • 1.0.4 - 01/14/03
    • Option to paste the Icon on a icns file (and not only put the data inside).
    • Choose the background color for viewing icons.
  • 1.0.3 - "just like the Finder"
    • Displays the same icons as the Finder (indeed some icons have a 128x128 and 48x48 version for instance. At 48x48 all is well, at 47x47 the Finder displays the 48x48 icon, scaled, Asticones used to display the 128x128 icon scaled.)
    • Icons names should finaly display correctly.
  • 1.0.2 - "Let’s make quality icons"
    • Looks for a template (for icon file creation) in the folder /Library/Application Support/Asticones/templateof the user.
    • Puts the COMPLETE icon on a file, not forgetting the possible 48x48, 32x32 or 16x16 versions.
    • A Save File dialog allows you to choose where to put the icon file.
    • Preferences to choose the icns format instead of just putting the icon on the template file.
    • Tooltips everywhere I found them to be usefull and neat.
  • 1.0.0 - 01/05/03 (numbered 0.1)
    • First public version
